I was watching the auditions on this TV program called "Dance India Dance" today, a contestant walks in & he is smiling even before he starts performing. He gives a decent performance and he finally tells the judges that he was smiling as he knew that he was not good enough. This statement from him got me to think. How many of us these days are willing to admit that we are not good enought for an activity. When was the last time I admitted to it. This is one quality, of being able to face the truth is something I really admire.
Next I got to watch Aamir khan on TV for his exploits of going around India for presumably marketing his movie " 3 Idiots". While that may be his primary objective, the smiles he is bringing to the faces of ordinairy Indians in this endeavor is amazing. I have always believes, I think I have mentioned it somewhere as well, the quality I admire most in a person is the ability of he/she to bring smile to another person. Aamir khan is an epitome of this. The work he has done, movies he have brought some of the best moments to not just Indian cinema but lives of people. "Taare Zameen Par" was a movie which made lot of people like me happy and sad at the same time.
Third quality, I really admire in people is their ability to laugh at themselves. I feel much more comfortable when I am with those who do not take themselves seriously.
